Sorare realized that with the growth of the number of players and the increase of the number of cards on the platform, more and more cards weren’t going to have any value anymore. In most businesses, creating a two-way street between the platform and its users is fundamental, as the best takeaways can come from listening to your audience. Recently, Sorare made an announcement about new gameplay improvements and I thought it would be a good time to share my takeaways.įirst thing’s first, Sorare created a marketplace and plenty of different ways to play the game: Whether you want to solely do trading and show that you’re capable of recognizing young talent, you want to perform on a weekly basis by analyzing who’s on fire and who’s not, or you want to play per region or globally, there will always be a way for you to enjoy the game.Īnd the platform keeps evolving based on the feedback of the community. Six months in, the genius of the product is that I am having a blast on the platform with the potential of also making it profitable-it’s not just an NFT trend, there is much more to it. I thought, “Let’s go ahead, invest a rational amount of money in this and, worst-case scenario, I lose the money but gain the experience.” Being in the sports industry, I was surrounded at the time by, on one hand, everyone imagining what the startup’s NFT strategy was going to be, and on the other, friends convincing me it wasn’t too late to make money on the platform.
